i have a phone interview today
with a company that turned me down for one position
but asked me to apply for this position
i’m not even sure of the pay
but
a phone interview is free
so
what the hell

and
i met with an attorney on wednesday
he will file court papers today
i have to be present at the first hearing
so
under the “everything happens for a reason” category
if i’d gotten the job, i may have had to turn it down due to having to be here for the court date
my attorney assures me that the hearing should be no more than 2 weeks from today
and that he will fight for me
so
the next hurdle?
i will be telling PC tonight
it’s a conversation that i’m not looking forward to
only because of how it turned out last time
but
there is a light
and soon there will be a date of departure
and then
sweet freedom

and the kicker?
my attorney’s initials are PC
HAH!

there is a place i could rent in the town i just moved away from
problem is
they want verified employment
so
i sent in the application anyhow
with a cover letter explaining my circumstances
and a copy of my resume
we shall see

i used to come here and write
lyrically
sometimes even poetically
seems these days
my writing is more
technical
no frills
like reading the small print of a prescription medication advertisement
and still
some of you are here
reading
probably with tears of “not this shit again” streaming down your cheeks
i appreciate you
your silent
and sometimes not so silent
support
is felt
